Another day among many

Ted Gresham – July 2025

Still here!

Hi yall!

Where Have I Been?

It’s a fair question to ask. Over the past several months, I’ve spent most of my time in this small house, navigating each day as best I can. There has been a lot of pain to contend with, and I’ve had to make a couple of trips to the hospital. Fortunately, I was able to get some medication that has helped manage the pain. More recently, my doctor prescribed something to help me stay awake during the day, which has provided a much-needed boost in motivation. With that, I’m doing my best to get back on track and reengage with life.

The Holidays and Family

The holiday season came and went quietly. I received some thoughtful gifts for Christmas and was grateful to spend time with my daughter and her husband. My son also visited for Christmas, which meant a lot to me. I am incredibly proud of him and all he has accomplished as a Marine. New Year’s was uneventful this time around, and before I knew it, 2026 had arrived. It’s hard to believe how quickly the years pass; it’s now been five years since I was discharged from the hospital after that harrowing three-and-a-half-month ordeal. Despite everything, I am still here, continuing to move forward.

Current Challenges and Unusual Events

At the moment, I’m focused on organizing my shop and tackling some cleanup outside the house. I’m in search of someone I can hire to help tidy up the yard, as a stray dog appeared about a month ago and caused quite a bit of chaos. The dog chewed up extension cords, water hoses, and just about anything else it could find. It was an incredibly energetic animal, undeterred by any efforts to shoo it away. Eventually, I managed to get the dog into the car and took it to the pound. Now, a major cleanup job remains outside.

Ongoing Struggles and Creative Aspirations

I continue to deal with Tremors, which makes writing a challenge. I rely on voice-to-text technology, but it doesn’t always capture punctuation correctly, making the process frustrating. Despite these difficulties, I found inspiration this morning to consider rewriting my book, “Pawn.” I might update it and possibly even change the title to “Secrets.” I hope I’ll be able to follow through with this idea.

Closing Thoughts

This may not be the most exciting update you’ve ever read, but I wanted to share what’s been happening, especially since I haven’t posted anything here in six months. Thank you for taking the time to read this. Feel free to leave a comment and let me know your thoughts.
