What the hell is going on?

Ted Gresham – August 2025

Hello, neighbor. Here I am again. Now, remind me why I’m here… oh yeah…

I just placed my books on the main page of this website. I want you to buy my books. I want you to read them. I want you to feel excited, enthralled, heartbroken, and experience all the emotions they evoke. Well, maybe not completely mess with your head, but they are good books. They will speak to you in a meaningful way.

Below, I have included brief blurbs about them to give you an idea of the story. You can find much more information on my Amazon pages. You’ll be excited when you buy the book and read the entire story. So will I. Thank you.

The New Republic of Texas

The New Republic of Texas is a book you will really enjoy if you’re interested in state politics. While it doesn’t directly reflect the current situation in Texas, it offers insight into the complexities of state politics. The story revolves around some Texans who realized what was about to happen to the state and decided they wouldn’t accept it. So, they did the only logical thing: they revived the new republic, declared independence, and seceded from the United States.

Now, before you go all whack-a-mole on me, I want you to understand that this is about when Texas was blue. Not necessarily Democratic with a big D, but when the majority of people grew a brain and did the right thing. It is the opposite of MAGA and Hot Wheels up there in Austin now. I don’t do it justice here, but go get it and read it.

Pawn

I’ve always been fascinated by UFOs and what’s happening in the sky. I’ve actually made two trips to the UFO Museum in Roswell, New Mexico. Way back in 2020 and earlier, I spent a lot of time online exploring UFO topics, and I had a website, but I have no idea what it looks like now. I don’t remember. However, I got to meet someone I will call Tiny, and she had an incredible story about alien abduction. I wanted to write it, and she agreed.

She sent me letters and emails describing many of her experiences. Then, in May 2020, I flew to Vancouver. We combined our money to cover the trip. I spent a week there getting to know her, hearing her story, and falling in love with Vancouver—a wonderful city. When the week was over, I had to say goodbye and fly home, and I began working on the book.

I sent a short piece to Fate Magazine, the leading publication in the field, and they wanted to publish it. Before they did, however, they required an affidavit from my friend verifying that it was her story and not something I had made up. When I asked her for that, she freaked out. She told me to forget it. She said she couldn’t do that and they wouldn’t allow her to do that. It really unsettled me. After that, I couldn’t get in touch with her at all. For a year, I had no idea what had happened to her.

A year later, I received a few emails, and we talked briefly. She said she had been seriously ill, and then that was it. Nothing more ever came. I tried to find her several times, only to discover she had passed away over a decade ago, still in her 40s. The whole experience with her broke my heart because I cared deeply for her. Yet, the story still needed to be told.

After she disappeared, I decided to write a novel using the stories she told me—the events and abductions. That’s how the book was born.

Pawn is a bit difficult to explain or describe. It’s quite complicated. There is a middle-level manager and worker in an office in Dallas named Richard who, out of the blue, is abducted. He doesn’t remember anything until a friend he works with convinces him to visit a hypnotist. There, he discovers much more than he expected.

Richard’s life takes an abrupt turn and plunges into the wild and unbelievable world of alien abductions, government cover-ups, and scary things that go bump in the night. He goes full circle, eventually ending up right where he started, wondering what the hell had happened to him. It’s a good story. You will love it, even if you’re not into UFOs and strange, spooky stuff.

The hurting place

You have to know old George. George was as grumpy as they come, and he ran his old-timey store with very little care. He spent a lot of his time inside a bottle of gin, staring out at the world. But then this silly little kid comes up and looks through the front door of his store. It didn’t take long for that little boy to steal George’s heart right away.

The boy went by the name Pug. It was an odd nickname he’d picked up somewhere along the way. His real name was George, but he said he didn’t like it because it sounded stupid. Of course, George, the store owner, wasn’t too pleased with that remark. But they moved past it.

Pug was a good kid, always laughing, full of energy, and constantly trying to figure things out. He was fascinated by George’s old-fashioned store. At first, George was annoyed that the boy kept coming to his store, but later, Pug became a companion of sorts. However, behind that funny little face, the boy was hiding something dark. He had an illness he would not overcome.

Unable to deal with the kid’s trauma and tragedy George took another nosedive and crawled back into a bottle. He probably would have stayed there and drowned had it not been for Pug’s mother, Iris.

George had gotten to know Iris when he went with Pug to his house. They had a couple of conversations. Then came a time when they were both alone and suffering. Iris went to see George and found him wallowing in booze. They got to know each other. Eventually, their relationship became more than friendship, but George still struggled with his problem with gin.

The only thing that rescued George was a final letter from Pug. Because of Pub, George found healing at the hurting place.

Final Remarks

I have done many different types of work and learned so many skills that most people don’t believe it. I say that often, but it’s true. The fact is, though, those were just jobs. Some I really enjoyed, and some I did not like at all. Some lasted a few years, while others lasted only a day or two. But through it all, I am, and have always been, a writer.

Scattered across the internet over the years, I have shared quite a few stories. Some of them are still available. I’ve even written other books. However, the three I just described are the ones I am most proud of. They cover a wide range of themes, from danger and intrigue to heartbreak and romance. You’ll find little pieces of me woven throughout all of them.

I would really love for you to pick one or more of these books up and read it. Of course I could use some money and that would help. But the main thing is that I would like to share my stories with you. I believe you will like them all.So check them out.

Thank you and have a nice day.
