OK, most people think I’ve lost my mind. It’s mostly true, too. Why do you think that happened? Life. Living. Whatever. But today I’m talking about losing something else.

Today, I’m talking about something else: weight.

Today I weigh 270 pounds. You may think that’s pretty heavy, and it is. But in the past month I’ve lost close to 50 pounds. That’s pretty damn good. Especially since I am entirely unable to exercise due to nerve pain. So how did I pull this off?

Sick manIt was simple. I got sick. Well, I started by taking Ozempic in a big dose. My doc did that. Then last Monday my breathing went to hell and I wound up in the ER where I had a co2 in the seventies. What that means and I was virtually out of oxygen. No intubation for me though, baby. That story later, but they just put me on oxygen and sent me to ICU. I spent two days in ICU and one in a room before I came home. The food the hospital was inedible. So, I started shrinking more. I came home but the fun wasn’t over.

Saturday I felt a little wonky but went to the Nacogdoches rodeo anyway because my daughter had already bought the tickets. (Vid of the rodeo coming.) I was an idiot and ate some really bad nachos and hot dog. Worse was the little bottle of sour apple kids drink. I know. Just don’t say it.

When the rodeo was over I caught a chill as we were leaving. The weather was cool but not that bad. For a while I thought I was going to freeze to death before my daughter was nice enough to heat the truck just for me. When I got home the chill had converted itself into nausea. My wife and I had to do some straightening up because we’d done some cleaning and the bed was not assembled. Before we got the bed assembled I’d visited the porcelain throne. I was sick two more times. Then I mostly passed out.

Sick man animated characterSunday was down right functified. I stayed still and piddled on the computer. I ate almost nothing. Monday morning the need to be sick came again and that was hell on an empty stomach. Eventually I began to feel better. Today I’m just a bit weezy. Back to working on the website today.

So that’s the poor, poor, pitiful me story. It was not fun but being to where my pants are falling off is pretty good. What do you think?

Now all I have to do is keep it off. What do you think? Click the link below and tell me what you think and make a comment about my dorky post. OK? Great!

Have you ever noticed those big iron wheels on the sides of steam engines?  They are called flywheels and they serve a purpose.  They provide a steady momentum to smooth out the clanking motion of the engine itself.  This morning I was watching a little video about flywheels used in old factories on YouTube.  (I…

    Jesus Christ!

Ted Gresham – April 2026 Now about this guy named Jesus Christ He’s often called “Savior” or “Messiah” or whatever. To me the non-existent “son-of-god” is a pain in the ass. Once a year a holiday comes around called Easter. All the good Christians get dooded up and go to some church. For many it’s…

Ted Gresham – August 2025 OK, I’m as slow as Christmas and I procrastinate way too much. Honestly, I’ve been feeling pretty crappy lately. I hope I can be honest here on this blog, just lay it all out. Did you read this? Do you think I’m ridiculous or crazy? Or worse? If so, leave…

Ted Gresham – July 2025 Where Have I Been? It’s a fair question to ask. Over the past several months, I’ve spent most of my time in this small house, navigating each day as best I can. There has been a lot of pain to contend with, and I’ve had to make a couple of…
